“I always enjoy the quiet space created at Spiritual Journey. I look forward to coming to sit in peace and listen to the calming music.” – Stella’s Circle Participant

Stella’s Circle is very fortunate to have a part-time Spiritual Co-ordinator position thanks to funding from the New Ministries Fund of the United Church of Canada Foundation. The position has been filled since July 2015 by the Rev. Pamela Jones-Fitzgerald with funding committed until July 2017. We are very grateful for this support.

A number of programs have been initiated by Rev. Pamela, including Spiritual Journey, Drumming Circle, Music for the Soul and Pet Therapy. Many participants look forward to these activities. In addition to filling the soul, they have a strong social interaction component which is important to combat social isolation.

Rev. Pamela has organized various events in the past year, including planning and presiding over a service for World Day of Suicide Prevention, a House Blessing, an Annual Alternative Christmas Service and a Blue Christmas Service during advent.

The Spiritual Co-ordinator role also plays a leadership role with our Inclusion Choir and Shared Space, a monthly open mic session held with CHANNAL.

Response to these activities has been wonderful:

Drumming is one of the best things I have found at Stella’s Circle. When I am stressed I come to drumming and it always makes me feel better.”  – Stella’s Circle Participant
