Harmony for the Holidays
Monday, November 18 at 7:00pm
The holidays are advertised as a magical time of the year, but reality is often different from the commercials we see on television. The holidays can also be a stressful time, for women in particular. There are presents to buy, wrapping to be done, cooking, cleaning, decorating, and hosting. In fact, there sometimes seems to be no end to the duties that arise over this festive season. For our inaugural Women’s Mental Wellness event, we will discuss traditional roles during the holidays and offer practical strategies to help deal with holiday stress and make the season more enjoyable!
Self-Acceptance, Self-Care and Self-Compassion
Monday, January 20 at 7:00pm
You’re three weeks into the New Year, your resolutions are waning but you still want to make the most of 2020 in a manageable way. Join us to explore the post-holiday anxiety that is often experienced on the heels of Christmas. Happening on the day known as Blue Monday, this session will reflect on what the New Year means to us and discuss societal pressures surrounding New Year’s expectations. We will identify accessible tools to make the most of daily routines while focusing on channelling energy into self-acceptance, self-care and self-compassion.
The Tightrope of Work/Life Balance
Monday, March 23 at 7:00pm
Do you struggle to manage expectations at work along with family and relationship pressures? Is the concept of work/life balance a myth, or is it possible to keep your head where your feet are? This session will teach you practical strategies and skills to improve your work/life balance. We will discuss factors that negatively impact work/life balance and explore areas for improvement. Learn how life can be easier when we slow down and become more thoughtful in choosing, reducing and prioritizing tasks.
The Hungry Heart Café is fully accessible. Anyone who identifies as a woman is welcome to attend.
