Celebrating a Summer of Growth with the Green Team

This summer, Stella’s Circle’s Green Team celebrated another successful season of learning, teamwork, and community impact.

Delivered in partnership with Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador, the Green Team provides supportive employment opportunities that help participants build practical skills, confidence, and workplace experience while contributing to projects that make our community greener and more welcoming.

Throughout the summer, the team worked on projects across St. John’s, including the Bonaventure Community Garden, Caribou Legion Manor Garden, Hungry Heart Café, and the installation of community garden boxes in neighbourhoods throughout the city. These projects not only enhanced local spaces but also gave participants the opportunity to develop new skills, strengthen teamwork, and gain valuable employment experience.

The season concluded with a celebration recognizing the accomplishments of each team member and the many partners who helped make the program possible. We are grateful to Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador for their longstanding partnership, Green Team NL for supporting meaningful employment opportunities, the City of St. John’s for helping strengthen greener, more connected communities, and the Government of Canada for supporting employment opportunities through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Thank you as well to the many staff, mentors, and community partners who shared their time, knowledge, and encouragement throughout the summer. Together, these partnerships help create opportunities for participants to discover their strengths, gain meaningful work experience, and take the next step toward their employment goals.

Congratulations to this year’s Green Team on an incredible summer. We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next!
