Who We Are
Stella’s Circle is a non-profit organization rooted in social justice and working together with our community to advance inclusion for its most marginalized members.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to belong.
For the adults we serve, barriers such as homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction, poverty, trauma, unemployment, low literacy, and involvement in the justice system can make that difficult. These challenges rarely occur in isolation, and one often makes another harder to navigate. Because life’s challenges are connected, our supports are too.

Our mission it to champion growth and transformation through housing, mental health, and employment services.
Our vision is a home, a purpose, a community, and social justice for all.
All of our work is guided by our core values of respect, wisdom, connectedness, innovation, and courage.

Stella’s Circle is named after Dr. Stella Burry, a visionary social worker who dedicated her life helping marginalized individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Her work laid the foundation for what Stella’s Circle is today – a leader in social justice, housing, mental health, and employment.
As an outreach ministry of the United Church of Canada, our history is rooted in the principles of compassion, inclusion, and social justice that Stella Burry championed. Stella’s Circle has grown from its early days as Emmanuel House to a celebrated, nationally recognized organization that serves thousands of individuals each year.
