Who We Are

Stella’s Circle is a nationally celebrated community organization providing wrap-around services rooted in social justice and inclusion to our community’s most marginalized members.

We serve adults facing barriers to fully participating in their community, including mental illness, addictions, trauma, poverty, homelessness, criminal justice involvement, low literacy, and unemployment. We believe everyone should have a chance to be part of their community.

Our mission is to champion growth and transformation through housing, mental health, and employment services.
Our vision is a home, a purpose, a community, and social justice for all.

All of our work is guided by our core values of respect, wisdom, connectedness, innovation, and courage.

Learn More about Stella’s Circle

Stella’s Circle is named after Dr. Stella Burry, a visionary social worker who dedicated her life helping marginalized individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Her work laid the foundation for what Stella’s Circle is today – a leader in social justice, housing, mental health, and employment.

As an outreach ministry of the United Church of Canada, our history is rooted in the principles of compassion, inclusion, and social justice that Stella Burry championed. Stella’s Circle has grown from its early days as Emmanuel House to a celebrated, nationally recognized organization that serves thousands of individuals each year.
