Last June Stella’s Circle launched Clean Start, a commercial cleaning social enterprise, in part thanks to funding from Chevron Canada. Stella’s Circle participants who face barriers in their community receive complete on-the-job training with a team leader from the organization. Clean Start trainees work alongside professional cleaners with more than 35 years combined experience. Profits from Clean Start are used to fund employment programs for Stella’s Circle participants.
In January, Clean Start won the contract for Telelink, a leading provider of 24/7 live safety and inbound customer support solutions to over 400 organizations around the world. Telelink is locally owned and has been in business for more than 50 years. Co-CEO & Partner Cindy Roma has been a staunch supporter of Stella’s Circle and has served on both the Foundation and Governance Boards at Stella’s Circle. Telelink believes in supporting and giving back to the industries and communities they do business in, and Clean Start seemed to be a perfect fit overall.
“We love the idea that Clean Start employees are getting a hand up at the same time that our cleaning needs are being met,” says Roma. “We are delighted to partner with Stella’s Circle in this way.”
It’s been almost a year since the Clean Start launch and business is continuing to grow. In the first year of business, the number of contracts have increased all while receiving sparkling reviews from clients.
“Clean Start staff is excellent and they do an impeccable job. Clearly they know what they’re doing and it’s so nice to be able to leave it with the professionals and not have to worry about a thing.”
Stella’s Circle is grateful to Telelink and all our employers and clients that work with us to make our community a better place for everyone. If you would like to learn more about Clean Start, check out our website: CleanStartNL.ca.
