RACHEL’S STORY
Ten years ago when I was 19, I moved to St. John’s to participate in the Stella’s Circle Emmanuel House residential counselling program. I had lost everything due to my mental illness and addiction – my family, my friends, my job.During my time at Emmanuel House I learned about other programs at Stella’s Circle that allowed me to rediscover value and purpose in my own life. I was able to avail of therapy, counselling, and employment programs that helped me gain the skills to lead the best life possible. I struggled for a long time and it took a lot of work on my part to get to where I am today. Now I am living a full life with a full time job I’ve had for two years. Without Stella’s Circle it would not have happened.

At this point in my life my past seems so far away but it was all a stepping stone to where I am now. I can’t change my past but I just keep moving forward and life is pretty great. I’ve found great success within my career and have the greatest support systems around, all thanks to Stella’s Circle.
